Wyoma Jean Hansen, 72, Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer. She fought bravely and with dignity while never losing her positive attitude and sense of humor.

Wyoma was born in Loveland, CO. to George W. Skinner and Ruth Skinner. This was shortly after a move from Wyoming which is how she got her name. She was the fourth of five children. Three sisters and one brother. Her childhood was spent in Leadville and Salida before moving to Saguache in the sixth grade. She graduated from Mountain Valley High School in 1970. After graduation she worked for the FBI for a short time in Washington D.C. She then worked for the Flash Oil in St. Louis. After returning to Saguache, she worked at the Baca Land Co.

On the bicentennial anniversary of America, July 4, 1976, she married Ron Hansen. They shared, one month shy of forty-nine years together. The union produced two sons, Steven and John. She worked several jobs including Bank Teller, Attorney Assistant, and finally a career with the US Forest Service. After retirement, she was active in the community. She served two terms as Saguache trustee and one term as Republican Chair for Saguache County. Travel was also fun for her. Wyoma had many hobbies over the years including fishing, hunting, boating, and snowmobiling. She also shot in rifle and pistol competitions. Wyoma also loved to walk. She knew almost everyone, and she loved them all and they loved her back. She was devoted to her family and grandchildren and always had a nugget of advice, whether you wanted it or not. After becoming ill, she moved to Canon City to be closer to medical care.

She was preceded in death by her father George W.
