Geraldine Morley

Boardman - My better half left us very peacefully, like a bunny hopping through a field of flowers, on Friday, May 2, 2025.

Gerry Morley, born to parents William and Pauline Bowen, left as she lived-with love in her heart, kindness and compassion intertwined with steadfast stubbornness and positive sarcasm.

Her healthy stubbornness was indeed a virtue, particularly when it manifested as tenacity, focus and decisiveness in pursuing a worthwhile goal or belief.

Gerry was also known for her wit and sarcastic remarks, which were always delivered with a twinkle in her eye. After all, it was Oscar Wilde who wrote "Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit but the highest form of intelligence."

Living a life of remarkable resourcefulness, she was known for her ability to fix anything. Her mechanical expertise was amazing.

As a lifelong book lover, she had an insatiable hunger for knowledge and a thirst for adventure that only a book could quench.

The pride of her life were her children and grandchildren. Mimi, as she was called by her grandchildren, asked that I share the following with you:

Words can't express the immense pride I feel watching you all grow into the incredible individuals you are. Your accomplishments, your kindness and your unwavering spirit all inspired me. I am so proud of the people you are, the choices you make, and the values you hold. Your strength, your resilience and your compassion are a constant source of inspiration.

She leaves behind Jeff Mamula; her children Edgar (Donna) Morley, Suzanne Zupko and Jennifer (Anthony) Amendola; 10 grandchildren and her brother Bill (Shirley) Bowen and sister, Phyliss (Wayne) Falby.

She was preceded in death by her youngest child, Jacquelyn Elaine Novak. There was never a day that she stopped loving or thinking about Jackie. She would tell me, “Moms fix everything, but I could not fix that.”

Thank you, dear Gerry, for the great privilege of knowing you for 37 years. I know you are still here among us. Thank you for reminding us that every day is a gift, and to make sure you make time to unwrap the joys that life offers.

Go bunny…hop gently through the meadow proudly, Gerry. You have earned it.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish-St. Charles Church, 7345 Westview Drive in Boardman. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Arrangement are being handled by Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market Street in Boardman.

Please visit www.beckerobits.com to share memories and condolences with Gerry's family.
