<p>God called Joan Lilian Hibbert Yonson home May 5, 2025, at the home of her daughter Andrea, at the young age of 88.</p><p><br></p><p>Born March 13, 1937, in Liverpool, England, she was a daughter of the late William “Bill’ Hibbert and the late Florence Weir Hibbert. She enjoyed tending to her yard and flowers, traveling, sewing, playing bean bag game, dancing, BBQs, loving furbabies Penny and KeeKee, tending to her little ones and sitting drinking pots of "tea" and reminiscing and telling stories of the farm in Wales and of World War II.</p><p><br></p><p>She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Albert W. Yonson, Jr. of 55 plus years; her parents; a daughter Norma Yonson Crawford; son-in-law, William "Bill" Everette Crawford, sisters, Ethel Feasel, Florence Ellis, Joyce Tracey, and Norma Weir, and a great grandson, Anthony Scott Morris.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include three children, Andrea Hibbert Yonson Wiley (Harley) of West Virginia, Wesley A. Yonson (Linda), and Cindie Sekhri both of South Carolina; six grandchildren, Tina Stevens Sacco (John), Sonya Stevens, Travis Yonson, Randy Yonson, Kevin Yonson, and Brandon McCormick; two great grandchildren, Camron Morris Benton (Justin), and PFC TY Wolfe Stevens; two great-great grandchildren, Daylon Travis Benton and Kristina Elizabeth Benton; two nephews, Wayne Ellis, and Michael Feasel, and a niece, Geraldine “Jodi” Nicholls (Jim).</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Sumter First Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by Pastor Brett Gardner.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Sumter First Pentecostal Holiness Church.</p><p><br></p><p>A committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025, in the Ft. Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia.</p><p><br></p><p>The family extends a special thanks to Lonnie Stevens, Mike Stevens (Tina), Aunt Julie, Uncle Johnny Murray, Melissa Warren, and Dwayne (Kelly) Geddings for all the unconditional love, time and help of hard work and up keep of home grounds and great meals; Sumter First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Pastor Brett Gardner and Church family for all the help and special love, prayers and attention given and shown to Mum; to Hunter Whitaker for the love and joy and smiles he brought to Mum, Jennifer Pena (Texas) Mum's beautiful mermaid, for sharing her time and love to bring her laughter and smiles, Teresa and Christopher for their unconditional love and support, the Kingwood, WV Walmart pharmacy: Brian and Jason pharmacist and staff for all their assistance and help; WV Caring Hospice: Tabitha, Lawrence, Scott, Dennis and Debbie for the joy, laughter, smiles and support, and Kingwood Funeral Home for the gentleness and care of Mum.</p><p><br></p>March 13, 1937 - May 5, 202503/13/193705/05/2025
