<p><b>Marjorie A. “Marj” Brookhart of Springboro, Ohio, passed away Saturday April 5, 2025, at Hospice of Dayton, with loving husband by her side. She was born in Celina, Ohio on October 11, 1948, daughter of the late Marcella (Kaiser) and Richard Hemmelgarn. She was a member of the Germantown Church of the Nazarene. Marj served as Vice President of the former Mutual Federal Savings Bank in Miamisburg, and retired from Hammerman, Graf, Hughes & Company in Dayton, after many years of service. She also served as Secretary ~ Treasurer of Specialeyes for 25 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Ron Hemmelgarn; and a sister Joanne Ford. Marj is survived by her husband of 44 years, Douglas Brookhart; 3 sons, Larry (Stephanie) Leonhardt, Jason (Kathleen) Brookhart, and Charles Leonhardt; 7 grandchildren, Holden, Madison Leonhardt, Benjamin, Eric, and Cleveland Brookhart, Amber (Jacob) Hatfield, and Jackson;2 great-grandsons, Samuel & Roman Hatfield ~ plus one on the way; 3 brothers, Edward (Jan) Hemmelgarn, Gerald (Cynthia) Hemmelgarn, and Joseph Hemmelgarn; 2 sisters, Ginnie Klenke and Alice Hemmelgarn; numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Gathering will be held 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 a.m., Saturday June 7, 2025, at the Germantown Church of the Nazarene, 6140 Butter Street, Germantown, Ohio, where A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:30 p.m., with Pastor Jim Bowman. In lieu of flowers or other remembrances, the family suggests contributions may be made to Germantown Church of the Nazarene, in thanks for all the caring and support through these difficult times.
