Sarah Elizabeth McQuiston

30 year old Sarah Elizabeth McQuiston from North East PA passed away on April 10th 2025 after a vicious battle with addiction. With death comes great grief, however Psalms 34:18 declares "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Sarah was born on July 20th 1994 to Thomas (Tom) McQuiston and Mary Jane (MJ) Henry (Best) in Erie PA. She was the youngest sibling, but she had the largest personality. She enjoyed swimming and playing outdoors as a young girl, which carried into her adult years. She found great solace in nature. From kayaking, camping, hiking, swimming, to enjoying the sandy beaches locally, time spent outdoors was always enjoyed. She had great talents in hairdressing, sketching and painting. There was no music she could not dance to. Sarah loved hard. She loved her friends and family but most of all she loved her children, Vincent McQuiston (14) and Lorelei Kuczynski (10). Sarah attended North East School District and Ripley Central School before earning her GED and attending Cosmetology School. Sarah lived a life of happiness, love, and benevolence before her addiction took control. While the struggles and personality changes that coincided with Sarah's addiction cannot be erased our family will choose to remember Sarah as the soul she was. The daughter, the sister, the mother and the aunt who loved her family. The wild, fiery soul who shone brightly upon all. We loved Sarah so much and tried so extremely hard to help her overcome the demons that surrounded her and led to her years of fighting the falsified joy that drugs provided her with. The strength she had maintained while battling her adversities is a true testament to the force she will forever be remembered as. We shall cherish the times that we had with her and accept that even though her fight has ended her soul will live on in the eyes of her children and in the hearts of her family.

The Bible says in Matthew 11:28 "Come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest". Sarah, may the Lord receive you, take your pains away and replace it with everlasting love.

2 Corinthians 5:8 "We are of good courage and would rather be absent from the body and at home with the Lord." While your time on Earth has ended your time in Heaven is just beginning. In the Afterlife Sarah will rejoin her Maternal grandparents, her Paternal grandparents, a maternal Aunt, and a paternal Uncle. She leaves behind her beloved children Vincent J. McQuiston of Edinboro Pa, and Lorelei Kuczinski of North East Pa, father Thomas V McQuiston and mother Mary Jane Henry of Harborcreek Pa, sister Stacy L. Crum (Paul) of Latrobe Pa, brother Thomas J. McQuiston of Harborcreek Pa, sister Ashley Ohl (Joshua) of Harborcreek Pa and 10 nieces and nephews, 8 Aunts and Uncles and many cousins.

Private funeral arrangements at the convenience of the family have been entrusted to the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East. Please send condolences to elkinfh.com.
