<p>Mrs. Helen S. Martinez, age 95, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, in Bryan, Texas. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and a devoted individual. Born on August 18, 1929, in Mission Valley, Texas, Helen was the daughter of Anastosio and Antonia Sanchez.</p><p><br></p><p>Helen married Ricardo Martinez Sr. in Victoria, Texas. Their marriage exemplified a true love story, characterized by unwavering devotion and a lasting partnership. Together, they built a life rich in love, laughter, and adventure, raising ten children along the way. Faith wove a vital thread through Helen’s life, as she lovingly encompassed each family member in her nightly prayers.</p><p><br></p><p>She was a celestial blessing from the heavens, a radiant beacon of inspiration, and an unwavering pillar of strength to her family, community, and friends—those fortunate enough to cross her path! Family friends understood that upon entering her home, they would be surrounded by a warm embrace of delightful feasts, joyous laughter, and infinite love.</p><p><br></p><p>Helen was a compassionate and understanding soul, whose empathy touched those around her in profound ways. She had a unique ability to connect with others, often without words, and her acceptance and care were unparalleled. Her nurturing spirit was as evident in her relationships as it was in her beautiful gardens, admired by many. As a devoted mother and grandmother, her love will forever be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.</p><p><br></p><p>Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Ricardo Martinez Sr.; parents, Anastosio and Antonia Sanchez; two brothers; five sisters; sons, George Martinez, Ricardo Martinez Jr.; daughter, Rose Marie Martinez</p><p><br></p><p>Helen is survived by two brothers; four sisters; daughters, Isabel Martinez, Virginia Sustaita, Mary Jane and Rudy (Husband) Rios, Connie Blanco and Elsie Martinez; sons, Oscar Martinez, Joe Martinez and Michelle (partner); 34 Grandchildren; 85 Great-Grandchildren; 45 Great-Great Grandchildren (3 on the way); several friends that were like family.</p><p><br></p><p>We wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Inhabit Hospice, with special acknowledgments to Constance, Vanessa, and many others. A deeply cherished thank you goes to Lupita Guedea, our devoted caregiver, whose love shines brightly.</p><p><br></p><p>She departs, leaving a radiant legacy woven with threads of integrity, dedication, faith, and love. She shall be profoundly missed and cherished in the hearts of all who were graced by her presence.</p>
