<p>Uxbridge - Edith R. “Edie” (Belliveau) Macuga, 99, formerly of Cross St., passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Notre Dame Healthcare of Worcester after a period of declining health. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, William J. Macuga, in 2004. </p><p>She is survived by her son William W. Macuga and his wife Cyndy of Lancaster; her daughter, Cynthia McConville and her husband Scott of Auburn; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two children, Ann Marie Macuga and James Macuga, and was the sister of the late Estelle Davis, Jeannette Moriarty, and Norman, Robert, and Lucien Belliveau. </p><p>Born in Woonsocket, RI, on December 20, 1925, she was the daughter of Francois and Rose (Durette) Belliveau. She graduated from St. Clare High School in Woonsocket, class of 1944. Mainly a homemaker, Edith also worked for U.S. Rubber in Woonsocket for several years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. An avid New England Red Sox fan, she also enjoyed walking, reading, crossword puzzles, and socializing with her friends at the Uxbridge Senior Center. She was a member of the Joseph J. Michna V.F.W. post 7554 Ladies Auxillary, the 29th Division Association, and was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary Parish in Uxbridge. </p><p> Her funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 11 AM in St. Mary Parish, 77 Mendon St., Uxbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge will be held prior to her Mass on Wednesday from 9-10:30 AM.
