<p>Thomas Edward “Eddie” Hammond Jr. of Granite Falls passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory.</p><p><br></p><p>Born August 22, 1961, in Cleveland County, NC he was the son of the late Thomas Edward Hammond Sr. and Mary Ann Glascoe Whitaker.</p><p><br></p><p>Eddie was a member of Crossroads Community Church.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife Christina Hammond of the home; son Thomas Edward Hammond III of Gastonia, N.C.; daughter Olivia Saylors (Seth) of Kansas City, M.O.; stepson Joseph Sean Griffin of Granite Falls; brother Todd Hammond (Cindy) of Mount Holly, N.C. stepmother Gayla Hammond of Shelby, N.C.; stepfather Luie Whitaker of Shelby, N.C. ;step-siblings, Kelli Sullivan (Richard) of Shelby, N.C., Gaylee Whitaker and Craig Whitaker; four grandchildren, Weston Hammond, Clark Saylors, Evelyn Saylors, and Faye Saylors; </p><p><br></p><p>A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2025, 3:00 p.m. at Crossroads Community Church with Pastor Rick Bowman officiating. The family will receive from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cancer Society, P.O.
