Barbara Jane Weber

Barbara “Barb” Jane Weber, 89, of Lawrenceburg, IN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood, KY surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and a family friend. A devoted daughter, loving wife, cherished mother and grandmother, and adoring great-grandmother, Barb’s warm presence will forever be missed.

Born at home on June 23, 1935, to Alta and Lutie McMullen, Barb was a lifelong Lawrenceburg resident. She graduated from Lawrenceburg High School in 1953 and earned an associate’s degree from Cincinnati Business College. Her career spanned Thatcher Glass, Seagrams, the Dearborn County Highway Department, and Lawrenceburg Community Schools, where she loved being a “Mom” to all kids—her favorite role. Inspired by Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, she once dreamed of becoming a detective.

Barb shared 59 beautiful years with her husband, Kermit D. Weber, raising seven children: Shelley, Tracey, Jody, Mark, Kevin, Missy, and Shannon. Her legacy lives on in eleven grandchildren—Tawna, Tamra, Seazun, Ashleigh, Kacey Jo, Chelcey, Jamie, Markie, Indi, Hua Ling, and Hua Gang—and eight great-grandchildren—Avary, Olivia, Conner, Jude, Samuel, Luke, Maverick, and Kit.

With her infectious laughter and welcoming spirit, Barb turned strangers into friends. Her strong faith shone through her love for crafting large family dinners and bringing everyone together, her daily gift of unwavering selfless Love, and kindness to anyone she met. She enjoyed simple pleasures like watching the "Wheel of Fortune" and listening to Elvis Presley’s music. She also brought her competitive spark to Hollywood in Lawrenceburg, where friends adored her.

Preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and her beloved husband, Kermit D. Weber.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the many prayers, Pastors Tim Russell and Shawn McMullen (nephew) and the support of those who aided in her care and comfort during her final days: Marsha Jo Thelen, her nieces and nephew, children, grandchildren, and friend Lacy Gordon. Their kindness meant everything.

The family has entrusted private arrangements to Fitch Denney Funeral Home, located at 455 Ridge Ave, Greendale, IN. A public celebration of Barb’s life will take place at a later date, to be announced. In place of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made in Barb’s honor to the Dearborn County Museum, 508 West High Street, Lawrenceburg, IN.

“We love you, beautiful, courageous and strong Mom, Grandma and Granny Barbie.” Three generations. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.” - 2 Corinthians 5:8
