He was active in community affairs serving as president of the Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, and joint Fire Board. He was an active member of the Holy Name Society of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was a life member of Wisconsin Trapshooting Association, American Trapshooting Association, NRA, American Legion, and Bluebird Restoration Association of Wisconsin.
