Mike Kouri
<p>Mike Kouri was born to Raymond and Katherine (Elliott) Kouri on August 3, 1949, in Mangum, Oklahoma. He grew up with three siblings, George, Ruth and John. Mike graduated from Mangum High School in 1967 and went on to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education.</p><p>Mike dedicated over 30 years to teaching Shop and Drafting at Noble High School, where he made a postive impact on many students before retiring. Mike also worked as a Crop Hail insurance adjuster during the summers and continued that job full-time until his second retirement. On March 14, 1981, Mike married the love of his life, Lynda Murray. Together, they spent nearly 44 wonderful years of marriage, making their home in Norman before moving to Noble in 1983. Mike and Lynda shared a love for camping, playing golf, cheering on the Sooners at OU football games, and supporting their grandchildren at their many school and sporting events. Mike was an avid outdoor enthusiast, enjoying golfing, fishing, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. He taught them how to build things in his shop and made sure their cars were always running smoothly. He also enjoyed visiting the gun range with his son in law. Another special part of Mike's life was his time spent with his friends at the local coffee shop. They would meet regularly to "solve the world’s problems", enjoying lively conversations and sharing laughter. Mike’s wit, wisdom, and friendship were treasured by all who knew him. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings John, Ruth, and George, and his daughter, Kimberly. He is survived by his wife, Lynda, of the home; his daughter, Jackie Lindley, and her husband, Pat, of Norman; his grandchildren, Rebecca Summers and her husband, Brian, Katie Lindley, Sarah Lindley, and Ethan Lindley; and numerous other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.</p><p><br><br></p><p></p>August 3, 1949 - February 3, 202508/03/194902/03/2025
