<p>Eric Dewayne Walker Sr., affectionately known as "E-Dub" by those who knew him best, passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 48, in Mishawaka, Indiana. Born on April 21, 1976, in Michigan City, Indiana, Eric was the cherished son of Roosevelt Walker and Josiephine (nee Wren) Walker, who instilled in him the values of family from a young age. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Eric's early education took place in his hometown, where he attended Park Elementary School and Barker Middle School. He graduated from Rogers High School, from which he proudly embarked on the journey of adulthood. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>After high school, Eric went on to work in his community withthe Michigan City Street Department as a truck driver. </p><p>Eric's life was guided by his faith, and he was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>From his childhood days playing baseball, Eric's love for sports blossomed into a lifelong passion, especially for his beloved Chicago Bears. His enthusiasm for sports was matched by his love for socializing and traveling, making memories and sharing laughter with everyone he met. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>A family man at heart, Eric is survived by his loving mother, Josiephine Walker of Michigan City, IN; his son, Eric Dewayne Walker Jr., of Michigan City, IN; his bonus son, Kendrick Nevills; his girlfriend, Gayle Brush; his brothers, Michael (Tyra Robinson) Walker and Ben Walker; his sisters, Precious Walker, Jasmine Walker, Angel Walker, and all of Michigan City, IN and Terri Crump of South Bend, IN. His cousin, who was more like a sister, Amanda Tyler, also of Michigan City, IN, and his favorite cousin, Milton Piggie of Sioux Falls, SD, will fondly remember the joy he brought into their lives. Eric's legacy will live on through his nieces and nephews, Karmyn (Andy) Boller, Michael J. Walker, Oliviah Kereszturi, Myles Walker, Oakland Kereszturi, and CJ Sanders, all of whom he adored. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>His family extended beyond blood relations to include a host of close friends Joe Vaugh, Demetrius Morris, Damien Kossart, Charles Anderson and Taronda Edwards who became an integral part of his life's journey. Eric's faithful pet dog, Dojo, was a constant companion and provided endless joy and comfort. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Eric was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Walker; his sister, Melissa Walker; and his maternal grandparents, Rosie Lee Wren and Elgin Wren Sr., as well as his paternal grandparents, Mary Ferrell and Ben Walker. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, yet they are comforted by the memories he leaves behind. </p><p><br> Eric Dewayne Walker Sr. will be deeply missed by many, but his warmth, and the love he had for his family and friends will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>As we say farewell to E-Dub, we celebrate a well-lived life, full of moments that will be cherished forever. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p>
