Ellen "Eileen" Reilly

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Ellen "Eileen" Reilly who left this world to reunite with her beloved husband, Frank, after eight years apart. Married for 62 wonderful years, Eileen and Frank built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion—one that she cherished every day.

Proud of her Irish heritage and her Jersey City roots, Eileen carried a deep love for family and friendships. She was the eldest of four siblings, a role she embraced with warmth and strength. She leaves behind her dear sisters, Ronnie and Rosaleen, her sisters-in-law Bernice and Marsha and her brother-in-law Richie. She is now reunited in peace with her parents, Patrick and Catherine and brother Paddy, along with all her beloved family members who have gone before her.

Eileen's greatest joy was her family. She was the loving mother of Kathleen, John, Michael, Maureen, and Danny; mother-in-law to Peggy, John, Maribel, and Reggie, the cherished grandmother of Matt and his wife Brittany, Chris and his wife Mariel, Shane (dec), Kevin, Mia, Hope, Colin, and Mackenzie and the adoring great-grandmother of Calvin, Evie, Aiden, and Orla. She found immense happiness in attending her grandchildren’s activities and sharing in their milestones.

A lover of the Jersey Shore, trips to Atlantic City, and simple pleasures like a good cup of tea or a scone, Eileen had a heart full of kindness. She had a special place for the family pets, always sneaking them treats when no one was looking. To those who knew her, she was a steadfast friend—once you were in her life, you were there forever. She was generous in both words and actions, always ready with a listening ear, a warm hug, or a helping hand.

Eileen understood what truly mattered in life: love, family, and friendship. Her legacy is one of unwavering kindness, selflessness, and an open heart. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those fortunate enough to have known her.

A celebration of Eileen’s life will be held on February 3rd at Bedle Funeral Home with visitation from 9:30am to 11am, followed by Mass at 11:15am at St. Clements Catholic Church in Matawan.

In memory of Eileen, the family asks that you share a cup of tea with someone you love and carry forward her spirit of kindness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Fulfill Food Bank in Neptune, NJ.
