<p>James Michael Stead, 65, was called home by his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 5th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, where he met his wife, Karen and studied at Temple University. He spent many years raising his family in Oswego, NY, and later Pilesgrove, NJ, during which he enjoyed a career as an engineer and serving in the local church. Jim was a long-time road biker, a mastermind of home improvement projects, and lover of jazz music, but his great joy in life was spending time with his family and loved ones.</p><p><br></p><p>Jim was a beloved husband for 43 years of Karen (Benzon), and devoted father to his five children, Daniel, Julie Grasso and her husband Joseph, Andrew and his wife Julianna, Eric and his wife Priscilla, and Caylee. His joy was multiplied by his granddaughters, Eliana and Naomi Grasso. He is survived by six dear siblings, Joseph Stead, Thomas Stead, Anna Murray (Wayne), William Stead, Catherine Marr, and Michael Stead (Linda), as well as his in-laws Robert Benzon, and William (Daena) Benzon. Jim is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph, his mother, Mary (Shay), and three sisters-in-law, Ramona, Kathy and Linda.</p><p><br></p><p>Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate and remember Jim’s life on Saturday, January 18th, 2025 at Hope Community Church located at 3 Point Airy Road, Pilesgrove, NJ 08098. Visitation with the family will begin at 10AM, with a memorial service at 10:30 AM.
