<p><p>Ray “RayRay” Lewis Wisswell, III, age 50, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, in Norfolk, VA, surrounded by his loved ones.</p><p><br></p><p>He was born, to Ray “Butch” Lewis Wisswell, II and Donna Silvester Wisswell of Chesapeake, VA, on February 12, 1974. Ray grew up in Chesapeake, attended Great Bridge High School, and he later moved and lived in Weeksville, NC. In addition to his parents, Ray is survived by his loving wife, Kara Webb Wisswell; daughter, Savanah Webb (fiancé Broughton Goodson); sisters, Christy McCord (Kevin) and Ashley Laput (Greg) both of Currituck, NC. Ray also leaves behind nephews, Coty (Melissa), Tyler and Bradley White, Justin McCord, Max Laput, and Ripton Webb; nieces, Michaela Laput and Nola Webb; great-nieces, Kinsley and Paisley White, all of Currituck, NC; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilbur and Irma Silvester, and Corinne Wisswell.</p><p><br></p><p>Ray was an avid hunter, fisherman, and a true outdoorsman. He was a member of Northwest Baptist Church and Triangle Hunt Club, as well as owner of Image Advertising, Limitless Off-Road and Event Empire Rentals. Ray will be truly missed by all he came in contact with and touched so many lives. He had a big heart, infectious grin, wit, and ability to make everyone laugh; truly one of a kind. Ray had a gift for turning ordinary moments into unforgettable ones. </p><p><br></p><p>A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Northwest Baptist Church, 848 Ballahack Rd, Chesapeake, VA. A service to celebrate Ray’s life will immediately follow, starting at 12:00 p.m. Butch and Donna invite family and friends to Ray’s childhood home, following the service, for food and gathering.</p><p><br></p><p>Twiford Funeral Homes, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC, is assisting the Wisswell Family.
