Linda Marlene Lee
<p>Linda Marlene Lee (née Berry) 75, of Calgary, passed away on January 6, 2025 surrounded by her loving family after suffering from a number of seizure-related health issues during the past two years. </p><p>Linda was born in Edmonton, Alberta on October 24, 1949 to Lillian and John Gerard Berry. After graduation from St Mary’s High School and then the University of Alberta in Science (Microbiology) and Education, she taught in a number of elementary schools in Alberta, but mostly in Calgary. </p><p>Linda met Patrick, her husband of 49 years, while they were both students at the University of Alberta. Together they have two children, Jonathan and Christy. The unexpected passing of her beloved son Jonathan in 2020 was a devastating loss to the family. </p><p>Other than her son Jonathan, Linda was also predeceased by her mother Lillian (née Alex), her father John Berry, her brother James Berry, and her sister Donna (Burniston). </p><p>In addition to her husband Patrick, Linda is survived by her daughter Christy (Derek Wong), grandchildren Bennett and Bianca, her brother John Berry (Riitta), and nieces Lindsay (Matthew Christie), Lauren, and Spencer (Robert Stanhope). </p><p>We are profoundly grateful to our dear friends Pearl and Gord for their selfless support, in words and in action, that helped us get through the most difficult times in our lives. They are true friends in need. </p><p>Linda was passionate about books, biographies in particular. She was a regular patron of the Memorial Park Library in Calgary. In retirement she enjoyed daily long walks, yoga, travel, and cruises. </p><p>Linda was by nature a very kind and caring person who will also be remembered for her down to earth, unpretentious personality. She was also honest to a fault. Her only vice in life was addiction to our dear friend David’s licorice. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. </p><p>We also wish to thank the doctors, nurses, and support staff at Unit 71, Rockyview General Hospital for the kindness and care for Linda. </p><p>Family and friends will be notified of specific events in memory of Linda. </p><p> </p>October 24, 1949 - January 6, 202510/24/194901/06/2025
