<p> </p><p>John L Davis, 84 </p><p>John L Davis of Beaver, Ohio passed away on November 26, 2024 in Piketon, Ohio. John Leroy Davis was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on December 13th, 1939 to Bertie Leroy (‘Roy’) and Elizabeth Adella Kiser Davis. John was a 1958 graduate of Northeastern High School in Clark County, Ohio where he enjoyed playing on the football and basketball teams. Following graduation, John became a successful businessman, developer and eventual owner of John L Davis Construction. John helmed many projects throughout Ohio and other parts of the country, laying the groundwork for buildings and infrastructure that many people have long depended on. John married Julia (‘Judy’) Kay Barton Davis in Jellico, Tennessee in 1960 and often described this as his best decision. John had five children and endured the tragedies of losing three. John found joy in helping others, in staying constantly active, and in being with his family. For John, a closeness to God could be felt in the beauty of nature. He felt content in the splendor of the natural world and it is here he found his greatest peace. </p><p>John leaves behind his beloved wife, Julia Davis. He is succeeded by son Kenneth Leroy Davis of Beaver, Ohio and daughter Linda Kay Davis Blue (Mark) of Bellefontaine, OH. He is survived by brother Tom Davis (Bonnie) of South Vienna, Ohio and nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by son Joseph Davis and sisters Patricia Davis Grey and Janet Davis Ennis. </p><p>Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday December 3, 2024 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio with Pastor Brian Hedden officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Union Cemetery.
