<p>Jean R. (Hammond) Vicari, 84 of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25th in the presence of her loving family. Born in Ipswich, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Scriven) Hammond and beloved wife of 58 years to Kenneth F. Vicari. </p><p>She graduated from Gloucester High School in 1958. Jean then went on to work for Mighty Mac for many years utilizing her skills in bookkeeping. Throughout her working career she worked for many additional local businesses. </p><p>Jean’s greatest pride was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her favorite time spent was with her family and friends at the family camp at Sebec Lake in Maine. Jean had many hobbies throughout her lifetime. She loved her dogs and participated in multiple dog shows. Jean was an avid knitter and crocheter and won many blue ribbons at the Topsfield fair. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters with scrapbooking and bunka embroidery. When Jean retired, she enjoyed spending time with her husband traveling which included Hawaii and long Summers at their camp in Maine. Jean was very proud of her three grandchildren and attended many of their events. Jean loved cooking and baking, hosting many gatherings for family and friends. She made many amazing cakes for birthdays, holidays and weddings.</p><p>Jean is survived by her husband Kenneth Vicari of Gloucester; daughter Pamela LaBarre and her husband Christopher of Westford, MA and daughter Nancy Vicari of Gloucester, and three grandchildren, Aaron LaBarre, Danielle LaBarre, and Jacqueline LaBarre, and sister Lois Perry and husband Joseph of NH; and brother-in-law Kenneth Platts. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Ruth Platts of Methuen, MA</p><p>The service to commemorate Jean’s life will be at the Annisquam Village Church, 820 Washington St, Gloucester on Tuesday, December 3rd at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be at Campbell Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, on Monday, December 2nd from 4pm to 7pm. The burial will be at Dolliver’s Cemetery in West Gloucester.
