<p>LaVonne Marie Kindler of Duncanville, Texas passed away November 23, 2024 at the age of 86. Lavonne was born November 9, 1938 in Copperas Cove, Texas, the daughter of Herbert and Ida Kriegel. LaVonne was united in marriage to Elton Kindler on August 20,1966.</p><p><br></p><p>LaVonne was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church on November 28, 1938 and was later confirmed at the same church on April 6, 1952. LaVonne graduated from Copperas Cove High School as Valedictorian in May, 1956. She moved to Dallas to attend Draughn’s Business College and graduated in 1957. She went to work at Marotta Southwestern until they closed the local branch. LaVonne then worked at Dalsew, Inc. as office manager and was there until 1968 when she became a full-time mother and housewife.</p><p><br></p><p>LaVonne was always active in her church. As a teenager, she held several offices in the Walther League both local, zone, and district. Later in life she was involved in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and served as treasurer and president. While a member at Grace Lutheran in Dallas, she served as financial secretary. LaVonne was a charter member of Cross of Christ Lutheran church and served in many positions including financial secretary, treasurer, and member of the building committee. She also headed up the building fund campaign for the sanctuary.</p><p><br></p><p>LaVonne had many hobbies. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed many of her own clothes as well as her daughter’s. She made acolyte robes, banners and altar linens for her church. She loved doing all kinds of crafts throughout her life and as her mobility declined in recent years, she spent many hours making beaded Christmas ornaments. Everyone that knew LaVonne knew that she was also a wonderful cook.</p><p><br></p><p>LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Ida Kriegel; and one brother, Martin Kriegel. LaVonne is survived by her loving husband, Elton of Duncanville; two daughters, Sheri Windham and her husband, Burl, and Karen Kindler; three grandchildren, James, Seth, and Evan; two nephews, Mike and Dale; and her niece, Kathy.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services are at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 2, 2024 at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 512 N. Cockrell Hill Rd, DeSoto, TX. Interment will follow at Little Bethel Memorial Park, Duncanville, TX.
