It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Marion Esther Viola Strasser, age 81, who passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones, on November 22, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer.

Born on July 15, 1943, Marion was a cherished daughter of George and Viola Dietrich, who predeceased her. She was the loving wife and best friend of 63 years to her late husband, Carl Strasser.

Marion lived a life full of love and laughter with those around her. She embodied grace, kindness, and devotion, leaving an incredible mark on everyone she knew. Her true joy came from her family, especially her two sons, Steven and Paul, of whom she was so proud. She thrived as a homemaker, bringing warmth, care, and joy to all who entered her home. Whether in her immaculate garden or in the kitchen, filled with delicious treats, you always left her house with a full belly and a warm heart.

Marion was a devoted volunteer, giving back to her community through the Sebringville Athletic Association and the Anglican Church for many years. She spent her early years working at the Sebringville store, which she loved dearly. Above all, Marion’s kindness and friendship were the cornerstones of her life, whether offering a listening ear, a helping hand, or a good laugh.

Marion’s legacy will continue on through her two sons, Steven (Denise) and Paul (Luann), as well as her four beloved grandchildren: Meagan (Gabriel), Amy Culliton (Scott), Ryan (Kayla), and Allison (Dakota). She also adored her two great-grandchildren, Lucy and Ben.

She leaves behind her beloved brother, Lorne Dietrich, as well as three sisters-in-law who were like sisters to her—Wannetta Mallott, Katherine Nason, and Judy Potter (Tom), along with many cherished nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by her dear sister, Marlene Wright (Leonard), and her sister-in-law, Rose Dietrich.

Her warmth, wisdom, and joy will live on through all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Despite the sadness we feel at her passing, she would want us to remember the joy in the simple pleasures of life, the strength of family, the power of love, and the comfort of a good cup of coffee on the deck with friends.

In accordance with Marion's wishes, a private service will be held with immediate family only.

If you would like to make a donation in honour of Marion, please consider donating to the Canadian Cancer Society or Sebringville Athletic Association, through W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, Ontario, N5A 5T7.
