<p>Kathryn Ann Sale, age 75, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Boone County Hospital, Columbia, Mo., surrounded by her family.</p><p><br></p><p>She was born on September 18, 1949, in Jefferson City, Mo., to John M. and Imogene (Huhman) Sommerer.</p><p><br></p><p>Kathryn graduated from Jefferson City High School and spent most of her life in the Jefferson City area. In 1991, she briefly moved to Los Angeles, California, but realizing there’s no place like home, she returned to Jefferson City in 2001.</p><p><br></p><p>Kathryn began her career with the State of Missouri, initially working in accounts receivable for the Department of Corrections. Later, she transitioned to the Department of Health and Senior Services, where she also had the opportunity to support the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) as an administrative assistant. She retired in 2018.</p><p><br></p><p>A former member of the American Legion, Kathryn was a homebody at heart. She enjoyed spending time on Facebook, playing Farmville, and watching her favorite TV shows, particularly dramas, romantic comedies, and mysteries like "Castle" and "Big Brother." The Hallmark Channel was also a staple of her viewing.</p><p><br></p><p>Kathryn had a deep love for music, ranging from Elvis and The Beatles to Motown, country, and classic rock. She had an endearing obsession with Coca-Cola Polar Bears, receiving one every Christmas, which grew into a collection of all things Coca-Cola. She also amassed collections of Avon's red glass and Hummel figurines.</p><p><br></p><p>While living in California, Kathryn often took her family to Disney and had the chance to experience a World Fair. She cherished visits to famous landmarks across the United States, including the Lincoln Memorial and the White House.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include her two sons, David Sale of Jefferson City and Paul Sale of Holts Summit; two grandchildren, Merri Lintner (Austin) and Anthony Sale; and one sister Jean Wagner; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.</p><p><br></p><p>She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Elizabeth R. Sale; and three siblings, Judy Palazzari, Mike Sommerer, and Mary Jane “Sissy” Bremmerkamp.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will host a celebration of life service at a later date.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p>Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary, 915 Madison St, Jefferson City, MO 65101.</p><p><br></p>
