<p>Yoder, Ervin </p><p>Gregory, Michigan </p><p>His Legacy… Ervin Lee Yoder, 57, passed away October 3, 2024.&nbsp; He was born on August 13, 1967, in LaGrange, Indiana to Marvin and Mary Yoder. Ervin lived a life defined by service, compassion, and unwavering commitment to those around him. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, known for his kindness and selflessness, giving without hesitation to anyone in need. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne, Ervin served his country with honor. His patriotism shone through in all aspects of his life, but nowhere more vividly than in the mural he meticulously constructed and painted on the side of his barn, a lasting tribute to his love for his country and military service. Ervin also had a deep passion for collecting antiques, treasuring each piece for its history and beauty. He loved his son, Caleb, whom he adored and would do anything for. Caleb was the light of Ervin’s life, and he poured all his love and care into being the best father he could be. Ervin’s faith in Jesus Christ was central to his life. He found strength, guidance, and purpose through his relationship with the Lord, and it was his faith that fueled his generosity and compassion. He lived by Christ’s example, embodying kindness, humility, and love. Ervin’s kindness, dedication, and passion will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved him. His spirit lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the many lives he touched. </p><p>His Family… Ervin will be missed by his son, Caleb Yoder; father, Marvin Yoder; siblings, Esther (Perry) Hershberger Jr. of Middlebury, Jerry Yoder of Middlebury, Dorothy (Orva L.) Beechy of Shipshewana, Fannie (Scott) Miller of LaGrange, William (Aimee) Yoder of Plymouth, MI, Barbara (Gary) Magallanes of Warren, MI, Kenneth Yoder of Kendallville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Yoder; sister-in-law, Susan Yoder. </p><p>His Farewell… Ervin’s family and friends will gather Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 3:00PM-8:00PM, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. His Community Farewell will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 11:00AM (10AM gathering), at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. Pastor Ken Greble will be serving as celebrant.
