Terence Dean Yust
<p>Terence Dean Yust, age 79, of Viola, MN, went to be with the Lord on October 1, 2024, surrounded by family at the Season’s Hospice House in Rochester, MN, after battling cancer for over two years. </p><p>Terry was born in Chatfield township to Duane and Marie (Rathbone) Yust on October 23, 1944. He graduated from Chatfield High School in 1962 and from Rochester Junior College in 1964. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years stationed in Germany and Japan. Terry joined the Rochester Fire Department in 1975, serving faithfully for 25 years. </p><p>Terry married his high school sweetheart, Lonnie Stroebel, on September 21, 1968. They moved to Viola, MN, in 1971, and raised four children. Terry owned Viola Welding and Repair. He had the ability to fix anything without fail. He served Viola township as treasurer for 28 years, cleared snow from various residences, and mowed the 4-H softball field. In 1995, Terry found his love of trains and joined the Chippewa Valley Motor Car Association. </p><p>Terry’s biggest passion was his wife and family. He loved attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and traveling to 38 states and seven provinces on the motorcycle with Lonnie. He spent much of his free time snowmobiling, hunting deer and turkeys, and going on camping trips. He also enjoyed collecting tractors and train memorabilia. </p><p>Along with his loving wife of 56 years, Terry is survived by his four children - Robyn (Rob) Wilson of Eyota, Andy (Brandi) Yust of Plainview, David (Christine) Yust of Woodbury, and Jenny (Tim) Neuman of Brewster, eleven grandchildren - Arissa (Wesley) Shade, Alana, Cort, and Ethan Wilson, Lexi and Charli Yust, Kathryn and Olivia Yust, Claire, Josie, and Brooke Neuman, one great-granddaughter, Autumn Shade, brother Conrad (Sue) Yust of Eyota, and sister Ann (Mark) Allen of Pueblo West, CO. Terry is preceded in death by his father-in-law, mother-in-law, and parents. </p><p>Visitation will be Sunday, October 6th, 4-7pm at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church near Plainview, MN. Funeral service will be Monday, October 7th, at 11am, with a visitation an hour before the service at the church. Burial will follow at Oakhill Cemetery near Viola, MN. Schad and Zabel Funeral Home from Plainview, MN, is assisting the family with arrangements. </p>October 23, 1944 - October 1, 202410/23/194410/01/2024
