<p>Anna Hussey, 91, of Effort, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at home.</p><p><br></p><p>She was the loving wife of the late Robert E. Hussey. They enjoyed 43 wonderful years of marriage together before his passing in 2010.</p><p><br></p><p>Born in Bayonne, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Vincent Villafane and the late Santa (Minutilla) Villafane.</p><p><br></p><p>Anna was a loving homemaker and was devoted to raising her children. She worked in housekeeping and the dietary department at Bayonne Hospital for many years. Later on, she worked as a housemother for Bayonne School of Nursing, and eventually went on to work in home healthcare for several years when she moved to PA. She enjoyed puzzles and reading. Everyone knew Anna to be the person you could rely on for anything, and she was always there to help someone in need. Most of all, she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Anna is survived by her sons; Anthony Ryan, Vincent Hussey, Robert Hussey, David Hussey and his wife Liz; her daughters: Christina Ryan-Howley; Kathleen Mateicka; Carolyn Plaskon and her husband Michael; sixteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Molly. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, Jayson Michael Plaskon, two son-in-laws, Joseph W. Howley and Stephen Mateicka, and daughter-in-law, Christine Ryan.</p><p><br></p><p>A viewing will be held on Monday, October 7, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 8, at 11:00AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Brodheadsville.
