<p>It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Acosta Pitts, age 68, of Brooksville, FL.</p><p><br></p><p>Phyllis was born in Ybor City in 1955 and moved to Brooksville in 2007. </p><p><br></p><p>She was a graduate of Hillsborough High School in Tampa and retired from the accounting and finance field in 2021.</p><p><br></p><p>Phyllis is survived by her husband of 36 years, Leroy A. Pitts, Jr., her parents Roland and Liz Acosta, sisters, Carolyn Murphy and Gwendolyn (Bismark) Lahera, mother-in-law, Marcella Pitts, brother-in-law, David (Martha) Pitts, stepdaughter LaTasha (Raymond) Sheridan III, step-grandsons, Raymond (Rachel) Sheridan IV and Roman Sheridan, 3 step-great grandsons, 4 nieces, 1 nephew and several great nieces and nephews. </p><p><br></p><p>She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Owen and Ruby Maxwell, Ramon and Phyllis Acosta, father-in-law, Leroy A. Pitts, step-granddaughter, LaLani A. Sheridan and brother-in-law, Gerald Murphy.</p><p><br></p><p>Phyllis was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will gather for a private celebration of Phyllis’s life at a later date.</p>November 16, 1955 - September 30, 202411/16/195509/30/2024
