<p>Lonnie J. Janssen, 80 years, of Omaha, NE passed away Monday, September 30. 2024 at Nye Legacy in Fremont, NE. </p><p><br></p><p>Lonnie was born on November 6, 1943 to Harry and Juanita (Tucker) Janssen in Fremont. He was a 1961 graduate of Fremont High School. Following high school, he moved to Bellevue, NE. Lonnie worked as a food sales representative his whole life. Following his retirement, he drove the school bus for Bennington Public School. </p><p><br></p><p>Lonnie enjoyed playing cards with his friends and had an interest in classic cars. </p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by his parents.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by wife, Patty Hamilton Steele formerly of North Bend, NE; son, David (Deborah) Janssen; sister, Barb (Warren) Jones; grandchildren, Mindy (Ryan) Kneifl and Jaclyn; great grandchildren, Elliot and Sully; life long friend, Dave Bauers; and bus buddy, Jerry Ruff.</p><p><br></p><p>A Celebration of Life gathering will take place at a later date. </p><p><br></p><p>Memorials may be directed to the Nebraska Humane Society in Lonnie’s honor.</p><p><br></p><p>Online condolences may be left at: www.mosermemorialchapels.com</p><p><br></p><p>Moser Memorial Chapel, 2170 N.
