<p>Jerry E. Taylor, age 79, of Canton, MI, longtime Belleville area resident, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Trinity Health, Ann Arbor, MI. He was born November 8, 1944, in Asheville, North Carolina, son of Earl Joseph & Marjorie Elizabeth (Powell) Taylor. </p><p><br></p><p>He graduated from Belleville High School, class of 1963. Jerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a former Belleville Moose Lodge member and a founder of the Michigan Nationals baseball club. Jerry spent 43 selling cars at Sesi Lincoln Mercury Dealership of Ann Arbor. He then volunteered at Pheasant Run in Canton. Jerry’s love for the game of golf kept him busy all spring. His love and passion for baseball had him chasing his grand boys around the baseball field all summer. Jerry was also an avid hunter and loved to fish.</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carmen (Fenech) Taylor, three sons: Rodney Jerry (Tarie Lee) Taylor of Virginia, Jason C. Taylor of Canton, MI, and Ryan (Lisa) Taylor of Van Buren Township, MI; two grandsons Jake Ryan and Joshua Ethan Taylor; a sister Peggy Dowling of Chelsea, MI, also several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be 1-8 PM Wednesday, 3-8 PM Thursday, with an 11:00 AM Funeral Friday, October 4, 2024, at David C. Brown Funeral Home, 460 E. Huron River Dr., Belleville, MI 48111-2764 (734)697-4500. Pastor Gordon Moore will officiate.
