<p>Vassiliki (Koula) Manoliadis passed away on September 16th, 2024, in Marousi, Greece. Devoted mother to daughter Irene Sempepos and her husband Peter, daughter Kathy Conti and her husband Ken, son Bill Manoliadis and his wife Elaine. Beloved grandmother to Sabrina Conti, Frank Conti and his wife Danielle, Theoharis and Bobby Manoliadis, and Vikki Ikonomidis and her husband Bill and great grandmother to John Ikonomidis. Cherished sister and loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Harry, her sister Maria and her parents Panagiotis and Katerina. </p><p>Born on February 19, 1936, in the city of Chalkida, on the island of Evia, Greece. She lived there in a traditional Greek home with her two sisters Maria and Christina, her parents, and just across the adjoining walled courtyard was the home of her aunt, uncle, and cousin of the same name.&nbsp;&nbsp;At the age of twenty-six, she met her husband and emigrated to the United States in 1962.&nbsp;&nbsp;For the majority of their fifty-five year marriage the couple and their family lived in West Paterson, just a stones throw away from the family business, the Golden Star Diner.&nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p>Koula was an active parishioner at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Clifton, NJ where she and her husband were regular attendees at Sunday Mass, and holidays throughout the year.&nbsp;&nbsp;Koula’s loukoumades were a celebrated feature at the church’s annual Greek Festival. She also enjoyed baking with her friends at St. George, where her Koulourakia&nbsp;(Greek cookie) recipe is used to this day. After her husband’s retirement the couple would take regular trips to Atlantic City, and summer in Greece.&nbsp; She moved back to Marousi after her husband’s passing in 2017. </p><p>Visitation will be held Monday, Sept 30th starting at 10:00am at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 818 Valley Road, Clifton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am. Interment to follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Clifton.
