<p>Saltville, Va.</p><p><br></p><p>Sue Maiden Mills, age 86, passed away September 17, 2024, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Sue was born December 14, 1937, in Saltville to the late Robert and Daisy Gates. She graduated from Virginia Highlands Community College receiving an associate degree. Sue loved her family and loved taking care of everyone. She was a wonderful cook and always made sure everyone was fed. Sue enjoyed sewing, working jigsaw puzzles, word finder, and watching soap operas. She was a woman of great faith and loved attending the Quarry United Methodist Church.</p><p><br></p><p>Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donnie Mills and first husband, Jimmie Rex Maiden, Sr.</p><p>Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Cindy Kestner and husband Larry of Saltville, VA; sons, Jimmie Rex Maiden, Jr. and wife Karen of Bristol, VA, and Tim Maiden of Los Angeles, CA; grandsons, Josh Kestner, Jason Kestner, Jordan Kestner, Scottie Maiden, and Taylor Maiden; several great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Gates; one sister, Betty Alley; nieces and nephews; special neighbors, Revonda Surber, Starr Call, and MaryAnn; and many special friends.</p><p><br></p><p>A celebration of life service for Sue will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, with Pastor Leonard Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7:00 prior to the service.</p><p><br></p><p>Online condolences may be expressed at drhendersonfuneralhome.com. The D.R.
