Maryann (Audrey) Kussavage, 86, of Troy, Michigan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Audrey was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 21, 1937 to the late Stanley and Theresa Cichon. She was introduced to her adoring husband, Larry, by a friend, and was then blessed to marry and start their family. Her and Larry prioritized their family over everything, and that was evident in everything they did. Family has always been her favorite and most important thing.

In addition to family, Audrey was a hard worker. She was dedicated to her job and always contributing as an equal partner to their household. She worked in data processing at the former Martin Place Hospital. She retired from the hospital after many years of devoted service, and after retirement, she continued to remain in close contact with all of the people she met throughout her time there.

Audrey and Larry had many lifelong friends that they met along the way. Through different neighborhoods, their house on the lake, their children and extended family, they remained dedicated to maintaining relationships and friendships throughout a lifetime. They continued to remain in contact with these friends through weekly phone calls and catch ups, even as life took them in different directions. They enjoyed traveling, whether it was trips to Las Vegas or just trips to the casino; Audrey loved her slot machines.

Audrey was the purest example of unconditional love. This unconditional love was always appreciated by anyone and everyone who crossed her path. She was genuine, approachable, and endearing. She loved to talk with everyone, and her smile and personality could light up a room. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel welcome and cared for. She was dedicated to her children, grandchildren, grandpuppies, and most recently, her great grand-children. Audrey never missed a sporting event, recital, or graduation, and was the first to bring her chicken soup and homemade noodles to those in need. She was selfless, humble and gracious, and always putting others' needs before her own.

Audrey was the beloved wife of the late Larry for 63 years. Loving mother of Richard Kussavage, Kathy Loush, and Nancy Harris (Dan). Devoted grandmother of Sarah Harris, Kristin Alfieri (Glenn), Kara Lougheed (Phillip), and Christopher Harris (Makenzie). Proud great-grandmother of Bennett Lougheed, Lincoln Alfieri, Noah Lougheed, Dutton Alfieri, and Jordan Lougheed. Dear sister of Fred Cichon (the late Chris), the late Ted Cichon (Maryann), and the late Junior Cichon. Sister-in-law of Sandra Kussavage.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 11:00am until the time of funeral at 1:00pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home 2600 Crooks Rd. Troy, MI 48084. Burial will be held privately next to her beloved Larry at White Chapel Cemetery.
