<p>Hampton Falls, NH - Douglas Kenneth Daniels, fondly known as Doug, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on August 27, 2024, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, NH. Born on January 18, 1938, in Ohio, Doug was the beloved son of the late Kenneth Harland Daniels and Evelyn Gertrude (Booth) Daniels.</p><p><br></p><p>Doug grew up in Mentor, Ohio, alongside his sister, Marilyn Daniels Smith. He was a proud graduate of Mentor High School and later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Mount Union College in Alliance, OH. Doug resided in Hampton Falls, NH, and previously in Massachusetts including Salem and Boxford. A true snowbird, he spent the last 20 winters in the Clearwater area of Florida.</p><p><br></p><p>Professionally, Doug dedicated over 50 years to the Financial Services industry. He began his career in insurance sales, eventually transitioning into investment advice and financial planning. Doug took great pride in helping over 1,000 families throughout his career, a milestone he frequently shared with his loved ones. He officially retired on July 1, 2024, at the age of 86. Doug and his business partner, Christian “Chris” Beliveau, were honored to be affiliated with Northeast Planning Associates. Doug loved his work and officially retired 2 months before his passing on July 1st, 2024 - fulfilling a lifelong goal to work as long as he could.</p><p><br></p><p>Doug’s passion for golf was well-known. He achieved the remarkable feat of scoring four holes-in-one during his lifetime and several times scoring below his age. He was a 20-year member of Cochecho Country Club in Dover, NH, and, while residing in Massachusetts, played at Ferncroft Country Club in Middleton and Beverly Golf & Tennis in Beverly. While in Florida, Seminole Lake Country Club was his home. His love for the sport took him to renowned courses such as Carnoustie, Pebble Beach, and Shady Oaks, and he played rounds from Scotland to Florida and California to New England. Doug even had the privilege of caddying for the legendary Arnold Palmer.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his love for golf, Doug was a talented dancer, excelling in everything from ballroom dancing to the polka. He continued taking dance lessons until last year, showcasing his enduring passion for the art.</p><p><br></p><p>Throughout his life, Doug was affectionately known by many nicknames, including Dougie, Deuce, Double D, Dougie-Fresh, Sterling, Stud, Stormy, GrandDoug, and, to his great-grandchildren, OG.</p><p><br></p><p>Doug is survived by his children, Douglas W. Daniels, David K. Daniels, and Tracy L. Daniels; his grandchildren, Drew Daniels, Thomas Daniels, Samantha Kurtz (Chas), Calvin Smith (Jane), and Jaxenne Daniels; his great-grandchildren, Eleanor Kurtz, Eli Kurtz, and Isabelle Kurtz; his sister, Marilyn Daniels Smith; and his nieces and nephews, Fred Smith, Kent Smith, and Jennie Burcham.</p><p><br></p><p>A celebration of Doug’s life will be held on Sunday, October 20th at 2 pm to 5 pm at Cochecho Country Club, 145 Gulf Rd., Dover, NH.
