<p>Boycy N Gilliard, 88, of Anderson, SC departed this life on August 31, 2024, at AnMed Medical Center. Born in Starr, SC. He was the son of the late Leroy and Maggie Gilliard. He was married to the Late Dessie Mae (Donald) Gilliard.</p><p><br></p><p>Boycy and Dessie later move to Trenton, NJ. He was employed at Nearpara Rubber Company in Hamilton Township, NJ. He later moved back to Anderson, SC and resided with his daughter, Jeanette Whitfield, who took care of him during his illness. He enjoyed being outside doing yard work and sitting outside telling stories of how he grew up. He also enjoyed listening to music and having a good Sunday meal. Boycy enjoyed the simple life.<br></p><p>He was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers, one grandson, Anthony Gilliard, two great grandsons, Cormuyus and Quindarrious Dennis and one son Jimmie Gilliard.</p><p><br></p><p>He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Earline O Gilliard, Jeanette G Whitfield; seven grandchildren, Darnell Gilliard (Donna), Keysha Gilliard (Reggie), Corey Dennis, Leon Richardson, Tawonna Gilliard, and Jerry and Terrance Whitfield; sixteen great- grandchildren; twenty-two great-great grandchildren with one on the way; a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>The funeral service for Mr. Gilliard will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at The Unity Mortuary of Anderson, at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery, Anderson, SC..</p><p><br></p><p>Public Viewing: Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the mortuary.</p><p><br></p><p>The family is &nbsp;at 3608 Dobbins Bridge Road, Anderson, SC 29626.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
