<p>Jardel Stratton, 49 of New London, MO passed away at 3:30 PM Saturday, August 31, 2024 surrounded by her family.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO.</p><p><br></p><p>The funeral service will be live streamed through the James O’Donnell Funeral Home. The live stream will start shortly before the service begins.</p><p><br></p><p>Friends and Family are invited to Jardel’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, September 6, 2024 at the funeral home.</p><p><br></p><p>Jardel was born on April 23, 1975 in Ogden, UT to Myron Dale Stratton and Maralyn Joy Mikkelsen Stratton.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include her parents of Quincy, IL; her grandmother, Laura Lynn Stratton of Quincy, IL; three brothers, Myron Jeremiah Stratton (Lora) of North Ogden, UT, Matthew Dale Stratton (Heidi) of Northport, AL, and Joshua Daniel Stratton of New Canton, IL; one sister, Natasha Bokish (Joshua) of Indianapolis, IN; and ten nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>Jardel is preceded in death by her grandfather, Dale F. Stratton; her grandmother, Cevela Mikkelson; four aunts, Dalynn Stratton, Carol Barton, Karen Rodgers, and Vicky Louder; and one niece, Carly Stratton.</p><p><br></p><p>Jardel was an elementary school teacher. For the past 18 years she was an educator with the Ralls County School District, teaching third and fourth grade at New London Elementary first, and most recently teaching second grade at Ralls County Elementary School in Center, MO. Jardel began her career in education doing her student teaching at Adams Elementary School in Quincy, IL before taking her first teaching position at Veteran’s Elementary School in Hannibal, MO.</p><p><br></p><p>Jardel loved her association with the Ralls County educators. She had no children of her own but looked at each child in her classroom as her own and loved each one of them.</p><p><br></p><p>Jardel treasured the times she shared with her friends and family. She especially enjoyed camping and traveling with her nieces and nephews and taking them on various adventures. In her younger years while living in Utah, Jardel loved to participate with her family in “Mountain Man” reenactments. Trips to Yellowstone National Park and other National Parks with family, Branson, MO, Lake of Ozarks and other places with friends were some of Jardel’s favorites. An avid reader, Jardel liked to read daily scriptures, historical fiction selections, but her passion was children’s books, always reading and looking to add to her library for her students.</p><p><br></p><p>Jardel’s faith was always central to her life and a strong guiding influence. Jardel was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. At her church Jardel served as a Missionary in the New England Mission in various leadership roles, serving as past Relief Society President, Primary President, Camp Director, and young women's leader.</p><p><br></p><p>Pallbearers will be Myron J. Stratton, Matthew Stratton, Joshua Stratton, Joshua Bokish, Johnathan Bokish, Cristian Bokish, Kaelobbe Bokish, and Kaden Stratton.</p><p><br></p><p>Following the service there will be a celebration of life party for all at the Hannibal branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 9 Centerville Road, Hannibal, MO 63401.</p><p><br></p><p>For those celebrating in Utah, there will be a celebration of life party at the North Ogden 23 Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 787 E 1700 N, North Ogden, UT from 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial contributions may be made to the Jardel Stratton Memorial.</p>
