Elbert Ray Goodall

Elbert Ray Goodall, 74, of Brookville Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones. Elbert was born in 1949 to Welby and Clara Goodall in Louisville Kentucky. Elbert graduated from Valley High and then attended Jefferson Community College where he met the love of his life, Ann. He joined the Navy in 1973 and served his country for 14 years. He then went on to work in electronics at the VA Medical Center until his retirement. Elbert was preceded in death by his parents Welby and Clara Goodall, his sisters Freda Goodall and Anita Nix, and his cherished wife Ann Goodall. He is survived by daughters Jennifer Corder/Nathan and Rebecca Diaz, his grandchildren Alexandra Corder and Gabriel Corder, and his brother Charles Goodall/Vernita and family.

Elbert was known for his sense of humor and his gift for storytelling. He loved to talk to anyone who would listen and never missed an opportunity to share a funny story or a heartfelt memory. It was hard to walk by him without finding yourself caught up in a story or two. He loved being surrounded by people, and the people that cared for him loved being around him. A devoted father and grandfather, Elbert doted on his daughters and grandchildren, who were the lights of his life. He took great pride in their accomplishments and was always one of their biggest supporters in all their endeavors. His love for them was evident in everything he did. Elbert's generosity was unmatched. He found immense joy in giving gifts, always surprising others and bringing a smile to their faces. His kindness extended far beyond gifts, though; he was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need in any way, without hesitation or expectation of anything in return. Elbert leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and generosity. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. Though he may no longer be with us, the stories he told, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave will live on in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6th at GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE. Burial services will be held on Monday, September 9th at Resthaven Memorial Park, Louisville, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Brookville Handi-Van or the Ronald McDonald House.
