<p><p>Kathryn “Kathy” Mae (Johnson) Woody, 78, of Peoria, Illinois passed away on Friday August 30, 2024 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. She was born on November 13, 1945 in Duluth, Minnesota to Elmer W. and Elvie M. (Larson) Johnson. Kathy married Lester M. Woody on May 8, 1976. He preceded her in death in 2015. </p><p>Kathy graduated from Richwoods High School Class of 1963. She then furthered her education attending Western Illinois University from 1963-1966. Kathy later work for Proctor Hospital as an Office Clerk where she was in charge of printing for over ten years. She enjoyed reading, knitting, fishing, photography, cooking, math / finances, crafts, reading and spending time with her cats. Most of all Kathy loved volunteering and helping others. She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Peoria for many years. Her faith throughout her life was very important to her. Kathy was baptized on January 20, 1946 in Minnesota and was confirmed on Palm Sunday in 1959 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Chillicothe, Illinois. </p><p>She is survived by two children Katrina A. Woody and Daniel R. Woody. Dan took care of his mom for many years before her passing. Kathy is also survived by other loved ones. </p><p>Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister Karen Schilling, many aunts, uncles, cousins and a nephew Keith. </p><p>Cremation Rites have been entrusted to Cumerford-Clary Funeral Home. Scattering of her cremated remains will be held at a later date. A memorial service will be held at First English Lutheran Church in Peoria at a later date. Pastor Ryan Anderson will officiate the service. Memorial contributions may be made out to the First English Lutheran Church in Peoria, Illinois.
