<p>Norma Helen (Engel) Michor, 86, of Jackson, Wisconsin, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 25, 2024, at Horizon's Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon, following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.</p><p><br></p><p>Norma is survived by her husband, Edward Joseph Michor; her children, Todd Lewer (and wife Stacy) and Kim Brahm; her grandchildren, Joshua Lewer (and wife Kara), Zachary Lewer (and wife Lauren), Spencer Lewer (and wife Haley), Madeleine Lewer, and Brittany, Nicole, and Chloe Brahm; and her great-grandchildren, Estelle, Russell, Amos, Vivian, Tucker, Cooper, and Luke. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Otto Engel, her twin brother, Norman Engel, and her sister, Marilynn Link.</p><p><br></p><p>Norma was born in Milwaukee on April 13, 1938 to Helen and Otto Engel. She grew up in Milwaukee and later moved to Pewaukee and Jackson. She graduated from Washington High School and went on to work as a clerk at Kohl’s Food Store on 92nd and Lisbon streets in Milwaukee for 28 years.</p><p><br></p><p>As a child, she enjoyed her summer vacations in Florence, Wisconsin, at the family cabin, affectionately called the ‘Childhood Shack’. She continued this tradition with her own children, sharing her love for fishing, hiking, and watching rainstorms.</p><p><br></p><p>Despite the challenges of single motherhood, Norma was both assertive yet playful, bringing joy into life with activities like attending horse races, cooking with yeast, and dinner parties. She was known for her passion for sewing, decorating, cooking, cribbage, and frequent visits to the casino, and her special fondness for ice cream, particularly Kopps Custard.</p><p><br></p><p>Norma met Ed through mutual friends, who set them up on a double date. After retirement, Norma enjoyed her travels with Ed and friends, to places including Poland, China, Alaska, Hawaii, and gambling in Vegas. The mule barn in Crested Butte, Colorado, owned by her sister, was one of her favorite places to visit. She cherished spending time with her family.</p><p><br></p><p>A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, with visitation from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and reflection of life at 1 p.m. at Cranberry Creek Clubhouse, N165W20441 Berry Patch Road, Jackson, WI (food and beverages to be served; parking available on Jackson Drive).</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Froedtert Cancer Center or the Lawliss Inpatient Hospice at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Hospital Ozaukee appreciated.</p><p><br></p><p>The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Horizon's Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon and Dr. Bradley and his team at the Froedtert Cancer Center in Jackson, for their compassionate care.</p><p>She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.</p><p><br></p>
