<p>Jimmy Lee Bowers, aged 71, passed away on August 24, 2024 in Fort Worth, Texas with his family by his side.<br></p><p><br></p><p>Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 5953 Bowman Roberts Road, Fort Worth, Texas.</p><p><br></p><p>Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park, Fort Worth.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Biggers Funeral Home, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary to commence at 6:30 p.m.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorials: Memorial donations may be made to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation at: http://www.christopherreeve.orgreeve.org</p><p><br></p><p>He was born in Paris, Texas on February 7, 1953 to Roy Geron Bowers and Emeliana Cogal Jugalbot Bowers.</p><p><br></p><p>Jim, known to his family as Butch, attended many different grade schools growing up because his father was in the United States Army. During his childhood, he lived in Germany, Illinois and Texas. He graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1971 and went on to earn an accounting degree from North Texas State University, now University of North Texas in Denton.</p><p><br></p><p>Always a hard worker, Jim’s first job in high school was as a cook at the local Dairy Grill. He also worked at the bowling alley during high school, which allowed him extra time to perfect his game. He always loved to brag about how he had bowled a 300, the perfect score.</p><p><br></p><p>After college, Jim began a career in banking and finance. He excelled at math and was an astute investor who loved to help others plan and invest for the future. Jim worked as a financial advisor for many companies, including Merrill Lynch, Prudential, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo, where he made many lifelong friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Jim was a proud member of the Lions Club International Foundation and found joy in serving his community. He had many hobbies which included playing the accordion, traveling and hanging out at the lake with his friends. His favorite activity was spending time with his family and spoiling them. Jim was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.</p><p><br></p><p>Jim is survived by his wife of 33 years, Teresa Lynn; daughter, Teresa Bowers Rogers; sons, Michael (Candace) White and Randy (Ashley) White; son-in-law, Stephen Rogers; sisters, Linda McIntire, Lou (Fred) Howell, Louise Watkins, Terry (Roger) Griggs; grandchildren, Kyle, Landon, Barrett, Piper and Randy Jr., as well as other relatives and friends.</p>
