<p>Rumford - Marcos Luis Ribeiro, 63, known affectionately as Marcos to his friends and family, passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the Oakhill Nursing Home in Pawtucket. Born on October 13, 1960, in the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Marcos brought the warmth and exuberance of his homeland to everyone he encountered. </p><p>Marcos was the cherished husband of Simone (Santos) Ribeiro, and the couple's love story was one of mutual admiration and deep respect. His legacy as a family man is carried on by his son, Marcos P. Ribeiro of Johnston, and his daughter, Marcella Santos Ribeiro of East Providence. He was also a proud stepfather to Victor Neto and Liza Neto, both of East Providence. The son of the late Mario and Derli (Neves) Ribeiro, Marcos was a supportive and loving brother to Mario Ribeiro of Florida, Marcella Ribeiro, Marcia Peixoto, and Maristela Barbosa, all of Brazil. His joy was multiplied by his role as an uncle to many, including Stephanie Ribeiro and Alex Santos. His laughter and wisdom will be fondly remembered by his grandson, Lorenzo, and his step-grandchildren, Mia and Noah. He also leaves his former wife Luisa Ribeiro, and what a great support system she was in his final years </p><p>For over two decades, Marcos was the dedicated owner and operator of a thriving Commercial Cleaning Company. His entrepreneurial spirit and tireless work ethic were matched only by his generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand to others in his community and industry. </p><p>A man of many passions, Marcos's love for soccer was unparalleled. He spent countless hours cheering on his favorite teams, and his knowledge of the sport was both impressive and infectious. Traveling was another of Marcos's joys, allowing him to explore new places and cultures, often with his beloved family by his side. </p><p>Those who knew Marcos would describe him as loving, generous, and passionate. He approached life with a zeal that was evident in everything he did, from his business endeavors to the unwavering support he provided to his family and friends. His laughter was a beacon of light, and his ability to love unconditionally will be remembered as one of his greatest gifts to the world. </p><p>As we bid farewell to Marcos Luis Ribeiro, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, marked by enduring love, boundless generosity, and a passion that touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and joy that will continue to inspire those he has left behind. Marcos's memory will be treasured in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him throughout his remarkable journey. </p><p>His funeral will be held Monday, August 26, 2024, at 9:30am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 North Carpenter Street, East Providence. &nbsp; </p><p>Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence. </p><p>Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
