<p>James Gregory Moczynski, age 86, of Oak Creek, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2024 at his home, with several family members present. </p><p>James was born October 7, 1937 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Sylvester and Elsie Moczynski.<br> A proud Naval Veteran, he served his country in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Valley Forge, until he was honorably discharged in 1962. </p><p>He worked as a Business Agent for the United Food and Commercial Workers AFL-CIO Union, where he advocated for worker’s rights for many decades. He was very proud to serve his community of Oak Creek as a Police and Fire Commissioner for fifteen years. </p><p>James is survived by his partner Don Bates; his son Thomas (Brenda); and grandsons Matthew, Joshua and Daniel; his daughter Caryn(Danae); his brother Patrick (Kathy) Moczynski; his sister Michelle(Jim) Millonzi; and his ex-wife Carol Moczynski. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Jeffrey (Arlene), his longtime friend J Robert Baker and his faithful companion Hunter the yellow lab. </p><p>In his later years he enjoyed cooking, and always had his apron on, creating one of his signature dishes or a family recipe. He often opened his home and his table to those who otherwise would be alone. He enjoyed gardening, astronomy, photography, bird watching, classical music and gun collecting. He loved classic science fiction and detective movies. He was always ready for a good cup of coffee and a good conversation, especially if it included reminiscing about historic Milwaukee: the stores, the foods, the cars and the people. We will miss his stories, his sense of humor and his kindness. </p><p> His final resting place will be at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. </p><p>His family would like to thank Horizon Home Health and Hospice Services. </p><p>SERVICE INFROMATION CAN BE FOUND BELOW... </p>October 7, 1937 - July 26, 202410/07/193707/26/2024
