<p>Jean Carol Quinlan Steele, of Bushkill, passed away at age 87, on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the Lehigh</p><p>Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg Campus. &nbsp;She was the loving wife of Raymond A. Steele and they were happily</p><p>married for 68 years.</p><p>Jean was born in East Stroudsburg on August 21, 1936 to the late Frank and Edith (Fetherman) Quinlan. She</p><p>was one of two daughters and was preceded in death by her sister Frances Quinlan Adelmann.</p><p>Jean was a lifetime resident of Monroe and Pike Counties and played an active role in supporting the</p><p>community. She was a member of the Church of Saint John, East Stroudsburg, where she played the organ</p><p>and piano for many years. &nbsp;She was also a volunteer for the Bushkill Outreach Program. In her younger years,</p><p>Jean was a Girl Scout Leader and also played the organ at the Church of Saint Matthew, East Stroudsburg. She</p><p>could always be counted on to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, with a smile on her face.</p><p>Jean worked for some time as a teller at the former Monroe Security Bank. She also worked with her</p><p>husband and assisted him with daily operations and bookkeeping for the petrol station that he ran in Bushkill.</p><p>Jean loved spending time with her family and was known to bake delicious desserts for holidays and family</p><p>events. In addition to baking, she was a wonderful cook and has lovingly passed on many recipes to her</p><p>children and grandchildren. Jean also enjoyed passing time by watching the ducks by the pond outside of her</p><p>home and could often be found on the porch reading a book or completing a crossword puzzle. She was</p><p>kind, loving, strong, and spirited and will be greatly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have</p><p>known her.</p><p>In addition to her husband, Jean is survived by her 3 daughters - Pamela Steele Lavelle, Christine A. Steele</p><p>Zipp and her husband Ronald, and Lynn Steele and her husband John Maher; all of whom reside in Bushkill.</p><p>She is also survived by her grandchildren - Cathleen, Tracy, Andrew, Kimberly, Teresa, Michelle and Emily</p><p>Jean; her 10 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.</p><p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated&nbsp;on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 11:00am&nbsp;at the Church of Saint</p><p>John,&nbsp;5171 Milford Road, (Marshalls Creek) East Stroudsburg with Father Gregory Reichlen as celebrant.</p><p>There will be a visitation&nbsp;on Monday August 12, from 10:00am&nbsp;until the time of the Mass at Church.</p><p>Burial will follow in the Sandhill Cemetery, Shoemakers.</p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either Lehman-Pike Emergency Services, 193</p><p>Municipal Dr Bushkill PA 18324 or&nbsp;to Bushkill Volunteer Fire Company,124 Evergreen Drive, Bushkill PA</p>
