<p>James E. Cline passed away on July 4, 2024. Known by his friends and associates as Jim, he was born on January 29, 1932 in Dalton, Ga; one of five children, to John and Bessie Cline of Dalton, Georgia. After growing up in Dalton, Selma and Mobile, Alabama, Jim entered the Army in 1949 and served honorably in the Korean War until 1952. He fondly would recall his military experience from sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge on his way to Korea and military leave in Post WWII Tokyo. On October 12, 1953, he married the love of his life, Linda Dixon. With Linda, they had two sons, Mike and Greg. From that time until a few years before his passing, Jim was an entrepreneur in the yarn and carpet businesses during Dalton’s carpet golden age. He was known and beloved by his associates and customers for his sales abilities and amiable manner. Jim was also a strong man of faith, a longtime member of Carolyn Baptist Church and served as Deacon for the Church for over 15 years and involved with the church until his final years. Besides his faith and church, Jim has a passions for playing golf every weekend and rooting for the Alabama Crimson Tide.</p><p><br></p><p>James is survived by his son Mike and daughter-in-law Sondra Cline of Rocky Face, Georgia; son Greg, daughter-in-law Jennifer Cline and grandson Zachary of Suwanee, Georgia and many beloved nieces and nephews. He will be missed here on Earth but will join his beloved Linda in Heaven.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial Services will be Saturday, July 13 at 2 p.m. at Carolyn Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Brewer officiating the Memorial Service. The family will be receiving visitors from 1 p.m. until 1:45 pm.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Carolyn Baptist Church at carolynbc.com</p><p><br></p><p>Julian Peeples Funeral Home, Pleasant Grove Chapel of Dalton is in charge of funeral arrangements.</p><p><br></p>
