<p>Gloria Valencia Rubio passed away on June 9th, 2024 in Smyrna, Delaware surrounded by those that loved her. Born on September 30th, 1934 in Bravo, Michoacan, Mexico Gloria spent 89 wonderful years spreading joy to any and all around her. A comfort to many and a joy to all, most of her time was spent taking care of her family and loved ones. Not a day went by where Gloria didn’t talk about how much her children and family meant to her – her family was arguably her most important achievement in life.</p><p><br></p><p>From about 1968 to 2000 Gloria resided in Lazaro Cardenas, Michoacan, Mexico where she raised her six children. In 2000 Gloria along with her daughter Norma and her grandson Juan moved to San Francisco, California where they would spend a year and then relocate to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Gloria resided in Philadelphia for five years but in late 2006 she along with Norma, her son in law Ralph, Juan and two year old granddaughter Allina moved to Smyrna, Delaware where she would spend the rest of her days. A small quiet town where she said she loved living.</p><p><br></p><p>Gloria enjoyed singing and listening to songs as she had a passion for music throughout her life. When Gloria was young she learned to pass the time while working on her family ranch by singing songs along with her sister Lupe. Gloria also enjoyed cooking and preparing meals to ensure her family and guests are always well fed. Gloria truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends and having gatherings, the more the merrier. On a regular basis you would find Gloria talking on the phone as she would love to stay up to date with her family and loved ones.</p><p><br></p><p>Gloria is survived by her two sisters Lupe and Margarita, her son Arturo and her four daughters Elena, Arminda, Danelia and Norma. Gloria was predeceased by her parents Heliodoro and Andrea, her sisters Eustolia, Marina, Jesus, Raquel, Audelia and Rosa, her brother Heliodoro(Choyo), her husband Roberto and her son Alberto.</p><p><br></p><p>A viewing will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 10 AM to 1 PM in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 1 PM. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Smyrna.</p><p><br></p>
