<p>LAFAYETTE ~&nbsp;Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024, at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lafayette for Helen Malbrough, age 92, the former Helen Jasper, who passed away Monday, May 13, 2024 at Camelot of Broussard.</p><p><br></p><p>Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Grand Coteau. The Rev. Rick Andrus, SVD, pastor of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lafayette, will officiate at the services.</p><p><br></p><p>Helen was a native of Cankton and lifelong resident of Lafayette. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed baking. Helen was employed as a housekeeper for 30 years until her retirement. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lafayette and attended mass and prayed the rosary daily. She was a tireless prayer warrior never hesitating to advocate for those in need.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Jasper and the former Amelia Key; her son, Christopher Andrew Malbrough; and six sisters, Essal Monroe, Josephine Pierre-August, Lorena Hopkins, Louella Sellers, Mary Savoy and Edolia Francis.</p><p><br></p><p>A rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Saturday at St Anthony Catholic Church.</p><p><br></p><p>The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Anthony from 8:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.</p><p><br></p><p>Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave., Carencro, (337) 896-3232, is in charge of arrangements.</p><p><br></p>

Helen was such a big part of our lives. She was a loving caretaker for Phil and Todd and will always be considered a part of our family.
