S. Mah, at 86 years of age.

Cindy was born in Kaiping, China, and immigrated to Canada in 1959. Upon arriving in Calgary, she married Henry F. Y. Mah and quickly started a family. In 1963, they moved to Edmonton, where they settled in the community of Ottewell until her passing. Being a busy mother of four, she juggled many hats, which included supporting and working with her husband at their business ventures, but her most cherished and time-honoured hat was that of a Domestic Diva. Cindy was an accomplished self-taught cook, and always loved to host and cook for family and friends. In addition to her love of cooking, she also enjoyed spending quality time with her friends, as well as learning and perfecting the many crafts and skills she was eager to add to her repertoire. As the years continued, her greatest love was that of her grandchildren, as she would constantly dote on them. She always made sure they had enough to eat, had their favourite dishes, and eagerly attended any of their special days or events. Her great-grandchild always brought a smile to her face and much happiness, giving him the animated look only she could give. She was the backbone of the family that held us all together and will be deeply missed.

Cindy is survived by her children: Pearl (Patrick) Der, Fay Yamada, Andrew (Margaret) Mah, and Terry Mah (Ian Baker); grandchildren: Joey (Dayna Leskiw) Der, Brian Der (Mallory McNiven), Kiki Yamada (Mark Ryan), Robbie Yamada (Kate Indzeoski), Tyler, and Kennedy Mah; and great-grandchild, Charlie Leskiw Der. She is also survived by her sister, her brother-in-law, Ric (Lorraine) Mah, and numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives.

Cindy is predeceased by her husband, Henry F. Y. Mah, and her mother and father.

Services will be held at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home (10011-114 Street, Edmonton, AB). A Visitation for Cindy will take place on Thursday, May 23rd, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Celebration of her Life to take place Friday, May 24, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.

The family is grateful for the compassionate care provided to our mother by the doctors, nurses, and staff at the University of Alberta Hospital unit 5D2.

Arrangements entrusted to Connelly-McKinley Downtown Chapel.
