It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andrea Antonia Carranza, a devoted mother, grandmother, and beloved matriarch of her family. Andrea was born on April 1, 1928, in Guatemala, and she peacefully departed this world on October 19, 2023, in Jacksonville, Florida.

Andrea’s life was a testament to unwavering love and dedication to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of raising five children in Guatemala and later, relocating to Jacksonville, Florida, to be with her daughter, Fidelina Jackson. Her children, Victalino, Fidelina “Odell”, Luis “Maria”, Jorge “Veronica”, and Emma, were the center of her world, and her nurturing spirit shaped their lives in profound ways.

But Andrea’s love extended far beyond her immediate family. She was a cherished grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, as well as a source of joy to 5 great-great-grandchildren scattered across the United States in Texas, Florida, Alaska, and back in Guatemala. Her warmth and wisdom touched the hearts of each generation.

As we remember Andrea, we reflect on her kindness, strength, and the values she instilled in her family. Her love and guidance will continue to inspire us as we carry her memory forward. She may have left this world, but her spirit remains alive in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.

Please join us for a memorial service in honor of Andrea Antonia Carranza’s life on October 23, 2023, at Lem Turner Circle Church of Christ, beginning at noon.

Andrea’s departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but her memory will live on, a shining light in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
