<p>In the wee hours of March 21st, 2023, at just 15 days old, Lagertha Olivia Lantz opened her eyes for the first time to see our Lord Jesus in her heavenly home. She was also greeted by many family members and people who loved her family. She fought like the warrior she was named for but her little body just was not strong enough.</p><p><br></p><p>She left behind her loving parents, Jason and Jordan Lance who will love her and miss her forever; her grandparents, Carl Lance, Dawn and Mike Braley, and Sid and Marni Evans; her great-grandparents, Pat Shay, Dottie Evans and Joan Evans, Richard and Linda Lancaster, Doug and Grace Braley; several great aunts, great uncles, aunts, uncles and cousins.</p><p></p><p>In her short time with us, she brought so much light and promise to our lives. She renewed our faith in miracles and the compassion that can sometimes be lost in this world and how, when faced with diversity, mankind can be intrinsically kind and caring.</p><p><br></p><p>“And though she may be but small, she is fierce.” (William Shakespeare)</p><p><br></p><p>But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God” (Luke 18:16).</p><p><br></p><p>Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc., Fort Ashby, on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 11 AM until noon. The funeral service will follow at noon, with Pastor Kenneth Craddock, officiating.
