<p>Montee was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi to Edon and Alford Allen on July 9, 1933, and passed peacefully in his sleep on January 27, 2023, into the eternal care of heaven. Montee is survived by his three daughters Donna Hines (Ben) of Yorktown, Va., Denise Cunningham (Neil) of Santa Maria, Ca and Dawn Stoops (Jeff) of Hayward, Ca. </p><p><br></p><p>He is also survived by his grandchildren Benjamin, Daniel and Matthew Hines (Tommy DeYoung), Joshua (Felicia) and Zachary (Lindsey) Cunningham and great-grandsons Ezra and Phineas Cunningham and great-granddaughter, Avery Cunningham. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Clovis, Eva Nell, Virginia and Collins.</p><p><br></p><p>Montee appreciated the opportunity to serve his country in the U.S.A.F. and enjoyed his 35-year career in the Aerospace Industry. He loved his 49 years in Capitola on the Central Coast! An avid Giants and Niners fan, Montee enjoyed RV camping, fishing, bowling, playing pool with his buddies and touring the coast and cross country on his Honda Goldwing. He enjoyed his service and friendship with those in the Santa Cruz the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, SIRS, the Grey Bears, and Meals-On-Wheels organizations. Montee’s daughters give special thanks for their cousin, Gary Charlton, Montee’s special friend, Margie, Justine and his dear Loma Vista Estates neighbors for their care. </p><p><br></p><p>A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at the Santa Cruz Elks Lodge on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 11:00am. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, please give to your local foodbank.</p>
