<p>It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Michael Allen Lanum, the young man everyone knew as Mikey. Born and raised in Houston Texas, Mikey died on August 3 2022, a month shy of his 18th birthday, with his loving family by his side. Mikey is survived by his mother Tesha Kirk; his brothers Alex Lanum and Timothy James (TJ) Kirk; his dad Ryan Kirk; his father Shawn Lanum and sister Alice Risdell; and a large and loving extended family. </p><p><br></p><p>Mikey's blue eyes were as unmistakable as his mischievous grin: when he smiled the whole world smiled with him. He was guided by the spirit of adventure and mischief like any teenage boy. Mikey liked drawing, girls, and time with his peeps and he inherited a sense of inappropriate dark humor which he shared with his mom. Mikey was especially close to his brothers; having a "big kid" relationship with Alex and a "little kid" relationship with TJ. </p><p><br></p><p>Mikey was a deeply beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He left us far too soon, and all who knew him will miss him terribly.
