Yuriria Tremillo

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Yuriria Sarahi Tremillo Torres, age 40 on Sunday, June 26, 2022. Yuri, as we all lovingly called her, was born in Durango, Dgo. Mexico on January 29, 1982, to the late Francisco Tremillo and Rosario Torres. Yuri immigrated with her family to San Francisco, California when she was a young teen. She gave birth to her son in 1998 and her daughter in 2005. Yuri was the first in her family to attend college and graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. She minored in Latino studies at San Francisco State University. She always had stacks of books on race and resistance and Latino history. She loved Mexican art. One of her favorite stories is the one of the Mexican princess, Mixtli. Yuri worked at the Hilton Hotel in San Francisco as a hostess for Cityscape restaurant and Urban Tavern for 10 years. Yuri would use her hotel discount so her entire family could gather, and her nieces and nephews would use the pool. She was the first to teach us to enjoy a good staycation. She also started her own cleaning company. Yuri was her own boss. She always worked hard to get ahead. Some might say she achieved the American dream. Yuri was adventurous, ambitious, courageous, captivating, joyful, beautiful, fascinating, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Yuri helped everyone she could. Most notably she helped her mother when she was fighting against cancer. Yuri was kind-hearted and caring. She loved her children immensely and unconditionally. She was a wonderful mother and an amazing aunt. Yuri believed it was important to enjoy life. She traveled with her daughter and on her own. She visited many parts in Mexico. She always made sure others had a good time and enjoyed sharing laughs with her loved ones. No matter what cards she was dealt with, she didn't let any obstacle stop her from trying to achieve her goals. She will be greatly missed. Yuriria will be lovingly remembered for her impressive life. She was the innovator of our family. She is survived by her two children, Julio Jr. and Mixtli, her brother, two sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Thank you for all the great lessons you taught us, Yuri. We know you are now at peace with God.
