Robert RenkowskyRobert K. Renkowsky, age 80 of Bridgeport, husband of over 60 years to the late Janet Renkowsky, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021. Bob was born on October 26, 1940 to the late Alexander K. and Sophie A. (Bonckowski) Renkowsky. Bob was an avid collector especially of vintage lanterns. He retired from Sikorsky Aircraft after 40 years and was a holder of numerous patents. He was a U.S Army Vietnam veteran and an active member of the American Legion Post 177, and a member of the Air and Space Museum, Stratford, CT, Country Cruisers Car Club, PA and Elks Lodge #36, Bridgeport, CT. Bob is survived by his brother, Alexander Renkowsky (Pamela); his sister, Janice Medvecky; nieces Lisa Renkowsky, Laura Haigh, Karen Reid, Janelle Willouby, Candice Dritschler, Jessica Kunkel, Janette Roland, Michele Navarro, Cheryl Bevacqua, Linda Smith, and MaryAnn Sorrentino; nephews Alex and Marshal Renkowsky, Trevor Medvecky, Brian Kalata, Anthony Sorrentino, and Paul, Mark and Peter Lamoureux; several great nieces and great nephews; and his special friend, Raelene Miller. He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Ronald Renkowsky, his sister-in-law Delores Lamoureux, and his nephews, Mark Renkowsky and Joseph Sorrentino. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford, CT. Interment with military honors will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT. Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Pistey Funeral Home.
